I've spent fifteen years close to the people who build companies, first
as one of them, then alongside them. The pattern I keep coming back to is
unromantic and worth repeating: most problems aren't strategy problems. They're recursion and urgency problems.
What I trust most is first-principles thinking applied with speed. Strip the
problem to its physics, find the cheapest test, ship it this week. These days I build
that method into AI systems and run my own companies on them, so it isn't a theory I
talk about. It's the operation I live in. The founders I admire, and the ones I work
best with, operate the same way. They would rather be wrong on Tuesday than right next quarter.
